If you’ve been to Social Band’s concerts in the past you know about our close relationship with pies. It started five or six years ago when we begin offering a homemade pie – homemade and home baked by on of Social Band’s singers – as a raffle prize at the end of each concert. It was a kind of a fun, but sneaky, way to find out who was coming to our concerts and to build our mailing list so that we could send out those beautiful postcard concert announcements that soprano Marcia Brewster designs for us. The custom has now grown to where we are serving Champlain Orchards delicious pies after most of our concerts as a way to have a chance to connect one on one with our audiences.
For the up-coming concerts we have four great pies to raffle off. (Not that you would pick your night by your favorite pie or anything). For Saturday night March 29th Mike Brown will be baking a "Shake your Fist at Winter" Key Lime Pie, and for Sunday the 30th Christina Root is will be bringing her "Spring all the way to Fall" Apple Pie for the raffle. The second weekend, Ginger Gellman will be baking a "Harbinger of Summer" Berry Pie for the April 5th concert. For the final concert at 3PM on Sunday April 6th at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Burlington, Lily Jacobson is making a "Mud-Season" Chocolate Mud Pie. Yummers.
See ya at the concert! There's Pie!
